Solar Energy is a very hot topic, and so has been targeted by scam
operators who want to make a quick buck.
Hundreds of bogus websites (which look fantastic) are selling very
poor information packages on Solar Energy.
Their claims are ridiculous. "Power your house in a couple hours
with $200 of hardware store parts".
Anyone knows this is not possible. Don't give your money to scam
artists.
Here are some of the
techniques used by scam operators:
1. They create dozens of
fake "product review" sites that all rate their own product as
#1.
2. They create several fake
"critical review" sites like "solarvideoscamrevealed.com" and
then
proceed to tell you how all other videos are scams except
their own.
3. They take other people's
solar power videos from Youtube and superimpose their own
website address over them and re-post them to youtube.
4. They create bogus forums, blogs and
E-zine sites with seemingly average people who all
give positive testimony on how great their product is.
5. They generate fictitious
testimonies obviously written in the same grammatical style.
(By the same person)
6. They offer "Partner
Programs" which offer astronomical payment if you will
help them promote their scam products.
It is hard to imagine the
character of a person who would spend all day creating a
virtual empire of falsehoods in order to steal people's money. The
sad thing is, this does exist.
People with no conscience will stop at nothing in order to deceive
you.
Protect yourself by using the following criteria:
1. Is the vendor actually
providing concrete examples of the product for you to examine?
2. Is any product review site
you see - actually giving examples of products from different
vendors?
3. Is the video shown "generic"
in nature - or obviously taken from a TV show?
4. When you google the vendor,
do several references to "scam" come up?
5. Is the product on temporary
sale just for the next day -soon to go back to 5 times the price?
6. Does the blog or forum only
have posts from people supporting the product?
Don't be a victim of fraud. You
will be very disappointed in what you receive.. These people not only damage the image of solar power, but compromise the value and usefulness of the internet
itself. I'm sorry to
have even had to talk about this topic, but I felt you needed to
know how to protect yourself.
I'm going to rely on integrity and hope that it still means
something.
